The cap with thread is a strong plastic cap that is attached to the chair leg by means of a sturdy metal bolt. We especially recommend these caps on hard rough floors. Do you have a scratch-sensitive floor such as PVC or laminate? Then the Felt Cap with Thread is a better solution.
Properties of the cap with thread
The plastic caps are made of sturdy PE (polyethylene). This wear-resistant material is strong and will hold up well on all types of floors. Even on rough floors such as concrete, pavers and patio tiles. However, it is important to regularly check the chair caps for wear. When the plastic is worn, we recommend replacing the cap with a new one.
Available sizes
The chair leg caps with thread are available in sizes M5, M6, M8 and M10. These are the most common sizes in the furniture industry. This way we have a suitable bolt for almost every piece of furniture. The length of the thread is 20mm and the width of the cap is 25mm.
Note: The size must match exactly, otherwise the cap will not fit in the leg. You can best measure this using a caliper or with our measuring guide.
Installation and use
Installing our caps with thread is very simple. You can easily screw the cap into the existing thread in the leg until it is tight. If your chair leg does not yet have a thread, you can easily provide the legs with an insert cap with an M8 thread.
These caps are only suitable for straight legs. When the legs are angled, you should use the Adjustable Leveling Foot. This always positions itself straight on the floor so that you maintain maximum stability. It will also make the lifespan of the cap many times longer because they stand straight on the floor.
